Palle Lundberg has been Chief Executive of the City of Helsingborg since 2011. He is committed to implementing a city-wide innovation culture to promote resilience and quality of life in a more sustainable city.
With a strong focus on trust-based leadership and the motto of DARE – TEST – DO, the city has transformed into an innovation enabler, inviting businesses, residents, academia, and associations to co-create and develop new solutions. Under his leadership, Helsingborg became one of Europe’s most innovative cities in 2020, awarded by the European Commission and was a finalist in the European Green Capital 2023 Awards. Helsingborg has also been named Sweden’s Most Environmentally Friendly Municipality four years in a row.
In his previous role as Chief Executive of Botkyrka Municipality, Palle was awarded The Manager of the Year in Sweden 2009 for his results-driven and inspiring leadership. He has co-authored the book ‘Träna Ledarskap’ (Train/Develop Leadership) together with psychologist Sara Henrysson Eidvall, and he is a sought-after public speaker on both the national and international circuit.
